About
The archive
Since 2020, Formula 1 drivers have been free to change their helmet design as often as they like. Special helmets are now one of the best stories of every race weekend, and until now nobody collected them in one searchable place.
The accuracy rule
Every helmet listed has at least one source we have read that confirms it was raced. Anything we are not certain of (designer, theme, round, colours) is left blank and shown as "—". A blank means "not confirmed yet", never "none".
Images
Each helmet has an illustration we draw ourselves from its documented colours; it shows the palette, not the exact artwork. Where a free-licence photo exists on Wikimedia Commons we show it with credit. Some are crops of race-weekend photos so the helmet is visible, and the race and circuit backgrounds are free-licence photos from Wikimedia Commons, cropped and darkened. Every adapted photo is shared under the same licence as its original; the photographer, licence and source are linked on the image. Where the driver, team or designer posted the helmet on Instagram, you can load their original post on the helmet's page. We link to replica shops but don't copy their photos.
